Enjoy a ride on the fastest carousel in the world, spinning at nearly 18 miles per hour, and see if you can grab a brass ring from the ring feeder as the world spins by you. After your ride, stop at the Merry-Go Eatery where you can enjoy a foot-long hot dog, ice cream, and other snacks.
There is also a gift shop with Eldridge Park Carousel memorabilia, shirts, and more. Don't miss the penny-smooshing machine so you can take home your own penny stamped with your favorite carousel inscription.
In May of 2007, the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society restored the old Whip Building into a Dance Hall pavilion and built a performance stage. The Dance Hall and stage are the center of entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights at Eldridge Park.
In May of 2008, the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society introduced Jasper II, a boat ride modeled after the original dragon boat ride. Park visitors can take a ride on Jasper II around the lake for only $2 per person. Be careful though, Jasper is very protective of the lake and makes a lot of noise when he is upset. All persons must wear a lifejacket when riding Jasper.
In May of 2009, the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society built Corporate Pavilion #1 and the barbecue pit to accommodate large family and corporate gatherings. EPCPS also unveiled the Dragon hatchling paddleboat rides. Smaller versions of Jasper, the paddleboats can be rented for a leisurely trip around Eldridge Lake.
In May of 2010, the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society opened the Mark Twain Mini Golf Course, a victorian themed 18 hole putt-putt course with dazzling waterfalls and challenging slopes; complete with a replica of the Mark Twain Study and quotes from Mark Twain on the hole markers. Circling the mini golf course is a mini 1/8 replica train, taking riders on a tour of the victorian wonder over bridges and under the waterfalls.
